Ed Lauluma (1921-2005) Keweenaw Peninsula.

Ed Lauluma (1921-2005) was a Finnish-American fiddler who lived on a farm on the Snake River in the Keweenaw Peninsula, a region settled by a significant number of Finnish people. The Keweenaw is a peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that juts into Lake Superior. Ed and his wife originally tried to make a go at a dairy operation but regulations shut them down. Ed became a refrigerator repairman, a profession requiring him to visit peoples' homes and which subsequently helped introduce his music further afield.

Musician Ed Lauluma earns Heikinpäivä top honor.
